About Us

Meet Emma Smith

Hi, I’m Emma, the Founder and Recruitment Director of ELS Recruitment.

I started my journey in asset management, earning my IMC qualification while spending my days helping financial advisers understand fund positioning and holdings. A big highlight was working with a Maltese bank that meant plenty of trips to sunny Malta! As much as I loved the world of finance, I eventually found my true calling in recruitment and I haven’t looked back since. 

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of launching new offices for well-known Accountancy recruitment firms like Robert Half and Morgan McKinley, including their first-ever Northern Home Counties office in Milton Keynes. Even as I moved up the career ladder, I’ve always stayed hands-on in the recruitment process because I’m genuinely passionate about what I do.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mum to Jude and Annie and a bit dog-obsessed (Weimaraners and Great Danes hold a special place in my heart). Whether at work or at home, I live by one simple rule: reputation is everything. In the competitive world of recruitment, you succeed by staying true to your word and building relationships based on trust and integrity.
